Community
We want to do more than a typical school! Each year, we host a variety of volunteers, events, and a family week. We also have many resources that we can share with families or neighbors. Our families are important to us and we want them involved as often as possible. Want to come by? Use the buttons below to contact us!
In addition, we involved our community differently. When we want to make a change in a process or policy, we consult with our Cole Leadership Council to see how items might impact students, families, staff, and community.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Students
We recognize that it is hard to be growing up during these unpredictable times. We focus on letting students show up and be who they are at school. Teachers take student interests and family backgrounds into account while planning and creating lessons and projects. We ground our approach to behaviors in how students can solve problems using their own skills. We help them create their own approach to learning where they see themselves in their experiences.
Families
Families are always welcome at Cole! We know how much our families love their children, so we want to support them however we can. We provide in building and district translation support and will always provide important documents in your native language. We also know every family is unique, if you are not being served in a way that meets your needs give us a call and ask to speak to Ms. Brown, Ms. Rodriguez, or Mr. Shields
Staff
Teachers at Cole are amazing and we want to value each team member's different culture, background, and values. We know it takes a village to support students and we know that having staff from all kinds of backgrounds helps students build connections in school. We want our staff to be safe to be themselves at work while they give it their all to educate our students. Essentials
At many schools, gym, music science and art are considered extra or special -- not at CASA. Our staff beliefs that these classes are "Essential" to a comprehensive education.
CASA offers physical education, art science and music. Students rotate through each of these essential classes throughout the school year. They are standards-based and offer hands-on opportunities for students to extend their core content knowledge.
The Essentials Team organizes integrated arts and culture events such as: Dr. Seuss Day, FIRE Fridays, Fun Runs and other after school clubs.
